Blog Post 4

These last two weeks I have almost finished my research on how to create an app.  I also have a much better understanding on how professional teams use the plus/minus apps.  I still have to figure out how I will make my app easier and more efficient to use.  It is a very different experience and these last two weeks have been a little slow with the progress.  I hope that by the end of the week I will be all done with my research and possibly begin creating the app.

Blog Post 3

This week I continued to research how to create an app. I have also been researching how some NBA teams use the plus/minus star in their coaching. This week I will be finishing up my research about how to create an app and hopefully begin creating the app. I am very excited to start creating the app and it will be a brand new experience for me. I never thought that I would ever be creating an app before this year and here I am. I also hope that by the end of next week I will have a very good understanding of how the professional teams use the plus/minus and how I could make my app easier and more efficient.

Second Blog Post

So far I have researched how to create an app.  I have watched multiple Youtube videos, but all of them have been way too long or not helpful at all.  Also, I have looked up how to calculate a player's plus-minus.  To sum it up I will use Kevin Durant as an example.  The plus-minus is how many points Kevin Durant's team gives up vs how many points his team scores while he is on the court.  This stat is very helpful because you could have a player with who only scores, but plays no defense and a guy who doesn't score that much, but plays really good defense.  Before, everyone would want the guy who scores the points, but now you would be able to see that the guy who plays good defense gives your team the best chance of winning, even if he doesn't score as much.  This app I will create will make it much easier to keep track of their players plus-minus and give their team the chance to win.  I will continue to research how to create an app and plan out what I want my app to do.

First Blog Post

For my 20 Time Project I will be creating an app.  You will be able to find out the plus-minus stat for any basketball player.  The plus-minus stat is very important in hockey, but it is also very useful in basketball too.  This will be useful for every basketball coach because it is a very useful stat that is pretty hard to keep track of.  This app will make it much easier to keep track of this stat.  I want to make this app because the App Store only has a hockey app for this, but not a one for basketball.  My goal is to eventually get this app into the App Store.  I will reach this goal by first figuring out how to create an app and then spend the majority of the school year trying to create it.
